Aesthetic eye medicine
Aesthetic medicine of the eye is a branch of aesthetic medicine whose aim is to improve the appearance of the periocular region.
It aims to correct the signs of aging and prevent the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes.
The beauty of the eyes is a subtle balance between eyebrow, forehead and eyelid. Restoring its radiance is all the more subtle as you have to know how to guarantee a natural result without changing the shape of your eyes.
In aesthetic medicine there are several techniques to prevent the appearance of wrinkles, to fill in hollow volumes to maintain a harmonious facial expression. The choice of these techniques will be discussed in consultation with Dr Bela based on your request.
The most common treatments used in aesthetic eye medicine are botulinum toxin and hyaluronic acid.
Botulinum toxin is used to reduce eye wrinkles (frown lines, crow’s feet lines, forehead wrinkles).
Hyaluronic acid is one of the fillers that are used to fill in hollows, particularly those around the temples and eyebrows. Other treatments are applied in aesthetic eye medicine. Medical blepharoplasties allowing eyelids to be lifted using laser without surgery.
Radiofrequency allows superficial and deep tissues to be tightened in order to raise the eyebrow, smooth the skin around the eyes and treat bags under the eyes.
Treatments to improve the coloring of the skin around the eyes, particularly dark circles: regenerative medicine, depigmenting peel and laser.
Botulinum toxin injections, Mesobotox, BABYbotox
Botulinum toxin also called Botox is a neurotoxin produced by bacteria. It’s a medicine.
Different laboratories have authorization to produce it and therefore each have a different name: Vistabel, Bocouture, Azzalure.
The mechanism of action and effectiveness is the same.
This medication has been used since the 1970s in adults and children to treat strabismus, spasms of the eyelids, face or neck.
In aesthetic medicine this toxin is used to reduce or prevent the appearance of wrinkles. In aesthetic medicine of the eye we aim to treat wrinkles around the eyes, namely frown lines, paw wrinkles crow and forehead wrinkles.
This makes it possible to rejuvenate the look in the absence of surgery thanks to the injection of more or less concentrated doses of botulinum toxin depending on the desired effect.
When the treatment aims to prevent the appearance of wrinkles, the quantities are diluted in order to obtain a very natural result without freezing the look.
This is called BabyBotox. When the treatment aims to smooth the skin under the lower eyelids, another type of dilution is used and injected very superficially in small quantities.
This is what we call Mesobotox
When the treatment aims to reduce expression lines already established, botulinum toxin is then carried out with targeted injections into the motor end of the muscles responsible for the appearance of these wrinkles around the eyes. This is what we call classic botulinum toxin injections.
- Immediately: redness at the injection site for 1 hour
- Effects visible from the 5th day with slight asymmetry possible
- Final result achieved at 15 days: the forehead is smooth, crow’s feet wrinkles and the frown line disappear. The gaze is rested.

PRP and Microneedling
Microneedling is a technique based on carrying out a skin treatment through the repeated passage of microneedles.
These microneedles can be used on different technologies: Electric Microneedling, Manual Microneedling type Dermaroller.
The number of needles as well as the depth and speed of penetration can be adjusted on electrical devices. The needles are always sterile and single-use. They will create small, controlled perforations on the surface of the skin, which triggers a natural healing response.
The objective of this treatment is to reduce skin imperfections and stimulate collagen production in order to improve the appearance of acne skin scars, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores and hyperpigmentation.
This device will create hundreds of micro tunnels on the surface of the skin allowing active substances to penetrate. Microneedling is therefore interesting when coupled with the application of products such as mesotherapy or regenerative medicine with PRP.
PRP or platelet-rich plasma is a technique used to stimulate tissue regeneration and repair. Platelet extracts have been used for more than 10 years in reconstructive surgery for their healing properties.
This process involves taking a sample of the patient’s blood and extracting plasma from it. This plasma is rich in platelets which themselves contain growth factors and proteins essential for the healing and regeneration of facial skin cells.
Aesthetically this will improve the texture of the skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines of the upper and lower eyelids and around the eyes. It will also help treat the coloring of brown pigmented dark circles. When used all over the face, this treatment will also improve the quality of the skin. This treatment is carried out in consultation after the application of an anesthetic cream.
This is a minimally invasive treatment with very little social exclusion and long-term results with only 3 to 4 sessions spread over a year.

Peeling
Peels in the periocular region are aesthetic medicine procedures carried out around the eyes.
The aim is to improve the appearance of the skin, reduce wrinkles and fine lines in the eyes and eyelids and improve the coloring of the dark circles. When performed on the entire face, it can improve the texture of the skin, the appearance of enlarged pores without surgery and smooth the face without resorting to the injection of botulinum toxin or hyaluronic acid.
There are several types of peeling at varying concentrations with different molecules depending on the desired goal and the depth of action of the products used:
- superficial (glycolic, salicylic acid), mainly concerns women or men under 40 who want to maintain young and fresh skin. They are particularly intended for skin starting to show fine lines.
- medium (TCA acid < 50%) are more suitable for people with acne spots or scars.
- deep (TCA > 50%, phenol) are indicated for people over 40 years old with deeper wrinkles. In particular, around the eyes and around the lips.
- depigmenting peels are used to treat pigmented dark circles
This treatment is not invasive or painful, it is carried out by the surgeon in consultation. It is followed by social exclusion for a few days when the peels are of medium to deep depth.
But superficial peels can be carried out throughout the year without social exclusion.
Nevertheless, you must always be careful to protect yourself from the sun for optimal results.

- During the session, the skin is cleansed and the peel is applied with several passes.
- The treatment is painless.
- Immediately after the treatment, the skin turns pink and warms for a few minutes.
A protocol is carried out at home before the treatment to prepare the skin for the peel.
Sun protection is essential by total sunscreen for 2 to 3 weeks.
Results: at the end of the treatments, we observe a disappearance of spots, a tightening of pores and a reduction of small fine lines: we gain a real “radiation of the complexion”.
Social exclusion: Superficial peels do not cause social embarrassment.
Medium peels cause controlled desquamation for 3 to 7 days.
Deep peels are spectacular but the aftermath is longer and more debilitating and is only carried out by doctors trained in the technique.
Pain depends on the type of peel. Almost painless when superficial, it can cause pain comparable to a burn when deeper.
Four sessions on average 1 month apart are necessary for superficial and medium peels as well as for depigmentation.
An annual maintenance session each winter can be carried out for long-term results.

Fractional CO2 Laser
The fractional CO2 laser is a technique using carbon dioxide which allows you to:
- Treat the wrinkled appearance of excess skin on the lower eyelid
- Perform a resection of a small skin lesion
- Improve unsightly post-operative scars
The principle of this laser is to send columns of controlled heat into the skin, leaving gaps of healthy skin between each impact.
The skin then regenerates naturally by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and allows the creation of new cells in the skin which then tightens harmoniously.
In aesthetic medicine and more particularly in aesthetic medicine of the eyethis laser will make it possible to treat wrinkles and fine lines of the eyelids and the skin around the eyes.
It will allow you to obtain a result of overall rejuvenation without surgery. It can be performed on the entire face or specifically around the eyes.
It can be combined with aesthetic medicine treatments such as hyaluronic acid or botulinum toxin injections.
It causes social exclusion for a few days but unlike the traditional CO2 laser, the fractional CO2 laser makes it possible to create intervals of healthy skin in order to obtain faster healing and shorter recovery times.
The overall objective will improve skin texture, reduce fine lines and wrinkles as well as acne scars, reduce aging spots and treat skin imperfections. This treatment can be done in the office after the application of local anesthesia using cream or combined with eyelid surgery in the operating room. You will need to take care to protect yourself from the sun as it can cause inflammation. It is therefore advisable to carry out this treatment outside periods of sun exposure.

After two days, scabs form and then gradually fall off over a few days and turn pink for about 4 months.
The eyelid is then tighter, the fine lines have disappeared, the skin improvement is visible.
Healing creams will be prescribed to be applied daily for 1 month.
The skin must then be protected from the sun with a total sunscreen for 1 year.
The result is lasting up to 3 years after a single session.

Nanofat
Nanofat is an aesthetic medicine technique that is part of regenerative medicine.
It consists of taking the patient’s fat and then preparing it to obtain a liquid product. This cellular concentrate is extremely rich in regenerative stem cells. Once injected into the dark circle or face, they release growth factors allowing rejuvenation of the eyes and face.
The effects are multiple:
- improve the quality and radiance of the skin
- improve eye hyperpigmentation and treat pigmented dark circles
- reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
Nanofat is a surgical procedure performed in the operating room. The first stage of this treatment is liposuction. Small amounts of fat are generally taken from the inside of the knee, abdomen or hips.
Once this fat has been collected, it is treated, washed, centrifuged or filtered in order to extract fat cells.
These fat cells grouped into lobules are called Microfat and will make it possible to treat – like an injection of hyaluronic acid – lack of volume, particularly around the dark circle.
These fat lobules can then be filtered again through increasingly fine mesh in order to obtain suspended fat cells or stem cells: this is Nanofat.
It is then injected into the face in the pigmented dark circle or by coating on the entire face. These suspended stem cells are not intended to fill a lack of volume but to regenerate the skin around the eyes and on the face.
This treatment must be carried out by a certified surgeon qualified in medicine and cosmetic surgery. It is carried out in the operating room after a complete consultation in order to explain the principle of this treatment to you.
